Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralin Marcos was born on September 11, 1917 in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte. The little boy who would become the Philippines’ Hitler was nurtured by his father Mariano Marcos, a Japanese companion, and his mother Josefa Edralin, who was left to die in the Philippines while the Marcos family fled to Hawaii.

Proclamation No. 1081, issued by Ferdinand Marcos, declared Martial Law. The declaration led to the deaths of many Filipinos, and the Marcos family has yet to apologize for the atrocities they perpetrated on the people.

Although many individuals are unaware and confused about the late autocrat Ferdinand E. Marcos’ leadership, many are conscious of the atrocities perpetrated by Marcos’ technocratic presidency.

At approximately 8:00 p.m. (1972) at Notre Dame St. Wack-Wack, Greenhills, Philippines, a pre-planned strike on Defense Secretary Juan Ponce Enrile’s convoy was carried out as one of Ferdinand Marcos’ rationalisations for declaring Martial Law in the Philippines.

Enrile confronts with Brig. General Mario Espina of the Philippine Constabulary at 5 p.m. to plan the national guard movement in Metropolitan Manila without provoking alerts.

Marcos requested Enrile at 6 p.m. Enrile received three stamped envelopes containing Proclamation No. 1081, General Orders, and Letters of Instruction.

Enrile quickly debunked this story in his 2012 memoir “Juan Ponce Enrile; A Memoir.” Nonetheless, numerous reports confirm that the assassination plot was performed.

Military units were installed approximately 9 p.m. Sen. Ninoy Aquino was the first person arrested, and the second person arrested was human rights lawyer Jose W. Diokno, the father of senatorial candidate Chel Diokno.
